This African Alternative to All Other Oils Is a Miracle for Hair Growth

You've probably heard of jojoba oil, argan oil, and coconut oil, and you've probably used them before, but have you heard of marula oil? For ages, African women have used marula oil to keep their skin looking lovely and silky. Marula oil hair serum is a relative newcomer to the commercial black hair care and beauty oil arena (although it's been a staple in Africa for a long time), but it already has some pretty remarkable nicknames, including "liquid gold" and "elixir of youth." All skin types will benefit from it. Marula oil has a balanced pH, so it won't dry out your skin (which is important in a world where diet and environment may cause havoc with our skin). It's antibacterial, making it ideal for acne-prone skin, and it's non-comedogenic, meaning it won't clog pores. In Southern Africa, this liquid gold pours through the marula trees. Cercaria birria is the botanical name, but in natural hair circles, we nickname it the marula tree.
